Adventure Exploration Passion Individuality

“The more joy a man fills his life with, the less likely he is to be destructive to himself and to his environment.” Lionel Irons Jr., Founder

ABOUT US

Future Fathers Outreach Inc. is a nonprofit mentoring program. Our mission is to empower youth from any economic, racial, cultural, or religious background to create a life that is meaningful to both themselves and the community they are a part of.

WHAT WE DO

Guidance

FFO accepts that no two people are identical, all youth are encouraged to define their own value system based on their own unique, innate inclinations*. Using an introspective approach to life experiences, participants learn to cultivate self-trust. Coach Lionel is available as a listening ear and a resource.

*Each child is encouraged to read for at least 30 minutes a day about any topic that is of interest to him.

Foster Imagination

Group discussions are a participant - guided open forum where the youth practice critical thinking, sharing their own ideas, and being effective listeners. In addition to open discussions, weekly meetings also include team building exercises that foster community and creativity.

Entrepreneaurship

FFO encourages entrepreneurship. The youth explore ways to transform an idea into a business plan, organize marketing strategies, and they learn about accounting.

First Time For Everything Retreats

Future Fathers Outreach hosts regular retreats designed to encourage the youth to do something that they have never done before. The retreats encourage exploration and imagination.

Spotlight

United Way of St. Charles has partnered with Future Fathers with an investment of $30,000.

Future Fathers delivered care packages (soap, toothpaste, tooth brushes, first aid kits, feminine hygiene products, etc) and breakfast to homeless members of the community. It was an amazing and eye-opening experience for the young men and myself.

Aviation awareness day was a success. Future Fathers accompanied several youth from the community to get a brief education in flying and an impromptu flight lesson. Video shot by Tyren Hills.

Future Fathers had fun with some members of the neighboring communities. We played a little weekend basketball as a way to bond and enjoy a little friendly competition. Future Fathers' own Tyren Hills and Shamar Moses' team went 4-2 on the day. It was a great outing. Video shot and edited by Tyren Hills.

Future Fathers Outreach supports the talents of all the young men involved, near or far. Originally from New Orleans and now based in Spokane Washington, ANTHEM X is a bright and rising star! He has evolved into a talented artist with a vivid and compelling story to tell.

We took a fishing trip and had a blast!!! Lentrell took the title as top fisherman of the day with a 23 inch Redfish!! The First Future Fathers fishing trip was a COMPLETE success!!!

FFO gave back to our community by passing out clothing items to the homeless members of our community. The young men were able to engage in conversation and see first hand another side of life. It was a great experience for the young men and put the challenges they face into perspective.

Overnight Fishing Trip

The young men wanted to do some night fishing, so we camped out. We had fun and learned a lot about and from one another. On the way back we stopped at a local farm in St. Charles Parish and experienced some chicken processing.

What are the goals of Future Fathers?

Future Fatthers Outreach creates opportunities for youth from all of the world’s diverse communities, to find and cultivate their gifts and talents.

We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community. Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.

The greatness of a community is most acurately measured by the compassionate actions of it's members.

We love the idea that it doesn't take one person only to achieve your potential. It takes a village, it takes a community, a street, a teacher, a father.

Future Fathers is something new and different. We spend time together as a family. More trips would be lit as a whole group!!!!

Quincy

I enjoy the time we spend together, it gets me away from all the women in my family for a while...

Lentrell

Yeah this cool, like, I like it a lot and what Dom said....

Lawanda Blackmon

I think that Future Fathers is a great organization that offers positive hope to the young men in a community that sometimes looks at them in a negative light.

Charles Winston

I thank God for  Future Fathers and Lionel Irons. This organization is a blessing and I pray for continued blessings. I am glad my kids is able to be a part of Future Fathers.

Wendy Scott

I think Future Fathers is doing a great job. My son is very excited about going to the meetings. Whatever yall are discussing and doing is working for my son. He is more focused and ready to work and do whatever he has to do to be a success in life. We talk even more and he is more honest. I just want to thank Lionel Irons because he doesn't have to do what he is doing, but I'm glad because its making a big difference.
